A commonly used motor for robots
There are three kinds of motors commonly used in robots: ordinary DC motor, servo motor and stepping motor.
1. A rotating motor output or input is DC electric energy, which is called DC motor. It is a kind of motor which can realize the conversion between DC electric energy and mechanical energy. When it is used as a motor, it is a DC motor, which converts electric energy into mechanical energy, and when it is used as a generator, it is a DC generator, which converts mechanical energy into electric energy.
2. Servo motor, also known as executive motor, is used as executive element in automatic control system to convert the received electrical signal into angular displacement or angular velocity output on motor shaft. It is divided into DC and AC servo motors. Its main characteristic is that when the signal voltage is 00:00, the rotating speed decreases at a uniform speed with the increase of torque.
3. Stepping motor is an open-loop control element which converts electric pulse signal into angular displacement or linear displacement. In the case of non-overload, the speed and stop position of the motor only depends on the frequency and number of pulse signals, but not affected by the load change, that is, adding a pulse signal to the motor and turning the motor to a step angle.
It makes it very simple to use stepping motor to control in the field of speed, position and so on. Beginners generally do not know much about single-chip microcomputer control motor, starting with the PWM signal output by single-chip microcomputer to control DC motor, and further try to control stepping motor in order to achieve higher control accuracy. For the motion drive of the car, DC motor or stepping motor can be selected, while the servo motor is generally used on the manipulator to obtain the accurate rotation angle.
