Valve spring

Before visiting the Mechanical parts Exhibition, let us have a look at the knowledge of valve spring.

Valve spring is a small tool to ensure that the valve seats in time and fits tightly to prevent the valve from jumping during engine vibration and destroy its sealing. The installation pre-tightening force produced by pre-compression during installation is used to overcome the inertia force of the valve and its transmission parts in the process of valve closure, eliminating the gap between the transmission parts caused by inertia force, to realize its function.

The valve spring is located between the cylinder head and the spring seat at the tail end of the valve stem. The function of valve spring is to ensure that the valve seats or valve seat rings are closely fitted when the valve is closed, to overcome the inertia force produced by the valve train when the valve is opened, so that the transmission parts are always controlled by cams and not separated from each other.

Valve springs are made of high quality alloy steel wires and heat treated to improve their fatigue strength. In order to avoid spring corrosion, the surface of the spring should be galvanized and phosphating. The two ends of the spring must be flattened and perpendicular to the spring axis to prevent the spring from being skewed.
