Working principle of synchronous belt

Synchronous belt drive is composed of an annular belt with equidistant teeth on the inner surface and a pulley with corresponding teeth. When running, the teeth of the belt and the groove of the pulley mesh to transmit motion and power. It is a new type of belt drive which combines the advantages of belt drive and chain drive.

Matters needing attention in installation and use of synchronous belt and synchronous wheel

When installing the synchronous belt, if the center distance of the two pulleys can be moved, the center distance of the pulley must be shortened first, and then the center distance should be reset after installing the synchronous belt. If there is a tension wheel, first relaxing the tension wheel, then installing the synchronous belt, and then installing the tension wheel.

When installing the synchronous belt on the pulley, being sure not to force it too hard, or prying it hard with a screwdriver to prevent the tensile layer in the synchronous belt from breaking unseen. When designing the pulley, it is better to choose a structure with two axles moving close to each other. If the structure is not allowed, it is better to install the synchronous belt with the pulley on the corresponding shaft.

Controlling proper initial tension

In the synchronous belt drive, the parallelism of the axes of the two pulleys is required to be high, otherwise the synchronous belt will run away or even jump out of the pulley. If the axis is not parallel, it will cause uneven pressure and wear the teeth at the early stage.

The frame supporting the pulley must have enough stiffness, otherwise the pulley will cause the two axes to be not parallel in the operation of the code lock.
