Other failure cause of rolling bearing

1. Fracture failure

The main reasons of bearing fracture failure are defects and overload.

The fracture of the part is called overload fracture when the applied load exceeds the strength limit of the material. The cause of the overload is mainly due to the failure or improper installation of the host.

The defects such as micro-crack, shrinkage cavity, air bubble, large foreign matter, overheating organization and local burn of the bearing part can also cause fracture at the defect when the impact is overload or severe vibration, which is called the defect fracture.

It should be pointed out that in the manufacturing process of bearings, the re-inspection of raw materials, the quality control of forging and heat treatment, and the correct analysis of the existence of the above defects can be carried out by instruments in the manufacturing process of bearings. However, generally speaking, most of the common bearing fracture failures are overload failures.

2. Corrosion failure

Some rolling bearings inevitably come into contact with water, water vapor and corrosive media in actual operation, which will cause rust and corrosion of rolling bearings.

In addition, the rolling bearing will also be subjected to the action of micro-current and static electricity in the operation process, resulting in the current corrosion of the rolling bearing.

The rust and corrosion of rolling bearings will cause ring, pit rust on the surface of rolling body, pear skin rust and pit rust with the same interval of rolling body, overall rust and corrosion, and finally cause the failure of rolling bearing.
