Other common faults of hydraulic system

Hydraulic impact

Cause: actuator reversing and valve closing cause transient pressure peak of flowing liquid due to inertia and some hydraulic components, which do not react sensitively enough, so it called hydraulic impact. Its peak can exceed several times the working pressure.

Hazard: causing vibration and generate noise. It makes the pressure element such as relay, sequence valve make wrong action, causing even some component, seal device and pipeline damage.

Measure: finding the cause of impact to avoid the rapid change of flow velocity. Delaying the time of velocity change to estimate the pressure peak, adopting corresponding measures. If the flow directional valve and electromagnetic directional valve combined, it can effectively prevent hydraulic impact.

Cavitation phenomenon

Reason: cavitation occurs with hole, and the oxygen in the air bubbles produced in the hole may also corrode the surface of metal elements. We call this corrosion caused by hole phenomenon as cavitation.

Location: cavitation phenomenon may occur in oil pumps, pipelines and other places with throttling devices, especially oil pump devices. This phenomenon is most common. Cavitation corrosion is one of the causes of various faults in hydraulic system, especially in high speed and high pressure hydraulic equipment.

The hazards and measures are the same as hole phenomenon.
